UPDATE: Source: Swiss court bailiffs visit office of Nord Stream

MOSCOW, May 30 (PRIME) -- Court bailiffs have visited the office of Nord Stream, operator of a Russian gas pipeline project, in Switzerland but have not arrested any assets or property, a source with knowledge of the situation told PRIME on Wednesday.

“(The bailiffs) have visited the office but have not arrested anything,” the source said, adding that the issue is about assets of both companies Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2.

Nord Stream operates the existing Nord Stream gas pipeline and Nord Stream 2 operates the project of construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

CCO of Ukrainian energy holding Naftogaz Ukrainy Yury Vitrenko said in late March that the company does not rule out applying to a Swiss court for arrest of shares of Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 in order to recover a debt from Russian gas giant Gazprom under an earlier ruling by the Stockholm arbitration court.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the Kremlin has no information on arrest of Gazprom’s stakes in Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2. “No, frankly speaking, we are unaware; this is an arbitration issue so I cannot tell you anything.”

Nord Stream's Swiss office declined to comment.
